Is It Alzheimer's or Is It Normal Aging?

A May, 2012, Psychology Today article gives a very nice synopsis of the differences between normal aging and Alzheimer's symptoms. So many people in my practice and in my personal life worry about this, I want to make this information as available as I can.

Here's the article: Is it Alzheimer's? Normal Aging? Or Simply Cyber Overload?

The article gives a list in which author Joanne Cantor compares the cognitive losses of normal aging with symptoms of Alzheimer's. Most of you will find it reassuring.

A useful point the article makes is that multi-tasking, which research is beginning to show makes us less efficient rather than more so, is harder for older brains. Cantor also says that multi-tasking "impedes the speed, accuracy and quality of everyone’s work." Start cutting back on multi-tasking now - your brain needs you to. You won't find you get less work done. You'll find you make less mistakes.

Whether your brain is dealing with aging or something more alarming, neurofeedback can help you keep it functioning at its best potential all along the way.
